Hi! I’m Kimberly, the author of “Passing Down the Love”.
About Passing Down the Love
Family history, memories and traditions tie families together, helping to create strong bonds. A source of personal identity, it provides comfort and security to its members during difficult life experiences. Whether you are a grandparent, parent, child, grandchild, or any combination of these, you can have a hand in preserving the past and creating valuable new memories for your future. Learn all you can about your family’s history and traditions by connecting with the older generations. Appreciate their contributions that have served to form the family you have today. Actively create ways to incorporate new traditions and memory-making opportunities for the younger generations which will provide them with a strong sense of family and self. Memories can tie us together, link us to the past, and build a strong foundation for the future, Passing Down the Love from generation to generation.
The Reason Why
Why is this important to me? My parents and my in-laws are all in their eighties. We are so fortunate we still have them with us. As the final one turned 80, my Mom, I started thinking about the things I may not know about these people in my life. I don’t want to miss the chance to talk to them about their lives, childhoods and discover their past. Passing those stories down to my children and grandchildren and finding ways to ensure today is not forgotten, will encourage close relationships within my family today and in the future. As my family discovers ways to share our history, stories, and traditions we would like to share our process with you. We are actually documenting some of our family’s history on my sister site: www.ThatSalad.com. We are finding ways to create memories today that will last into the next generation. I’d like to share this journey with you!
A little about me personally: I love campfires, boating at the lake, golf cart rides, long walks on the beach, and the moon. I’m a Scorpio, my favorite color is blue, and exercise is not on my “favorite things to do” list. I have been self-employed for most of my working life, running a medical billing service from my home office. My family is #1 – I’m a wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, a friend and more. I have an awesome dog, Sparky. He is a Shih Tzu who sticks to me like glue, keeping me company wherever I go, always loyal. My life is full.
