Do you remember playing in the snow when you were young?

Getting all wet, cold, and shivering?

Then you’d come inside, change into something dry and warm, and Mom would have a hot steaming bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup or a cup of hot chocolate waiting for you.

I always thought the marshmallows were the best part…

Now you can recreate that feeling with a little more adult version of hot chocolate.

When you need a quick pick-me-up, you’ve come in from the cold, or you’re just snuggling up in front of the fire on a cold winter’s day, this warm concoction is soothing and special.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 1/3 Cup Hot Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Hershey's Cocoa
  • 1-2 Tbls. Instant Coffee, the strength is your preference.

Instructions

Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium saucepan.

    Stir in water.

Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.

Add milk and stir. Heat until hot. Do Not Boil.

Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Beat with a whisk until foamy.

Garnish with marshmallows. (I would recommend this, but it's really optional).

Notes

The recipe may be doubled.

For the littles, you may want to leave out the Mocha, although that's the part that makes it "Mocha" Cocoa.

Maybe this should be considered an "adult" drink.  It's up to you.
